Gauges on an equipment control panel at a terminal
03 · Optimize

Less clipboard. More shift.

Most terminals still run on paper forms, group texts and memory. We bring the digital and AI-assisted tools we use every day at Cadiz to a terminal that is already running.

The problem

  • Nobody knows the crew is short until the shift has started.
  • Inspections live on paper, and the same finding gets written up for weeks without being fixed.
  • Trucks wait at the gate and nobody can say for how long.
  • The control room learns the loading status by radio.

One shift, start to finish

  1. Before the shift

The crew board shows who is coming in and where coverage is thin, so a gap is filled before it opens.

  2. First walk

The operator walks the skids and the railcars with a phone: the same checklist as the paper form, photos attached, signed at the end.

  3. Trucks arrive

Each truck on site is counted and timed, so waits and turn times are measured rather than estimated.

  4. During loading

The wall display shows loading status and the crew board to the whole control room at once.

  5. Shift change

The handoff carries open findings forward until someone closes them with evidence.

What each tool delivers

Crew board on a week view: shifts by person, one call-off, and a night coverage gap flagged before the shift
Synthetic demo data
Crew & coverage

Crew board

Coverage gaps and call-offs are visible before they hurt the shift, not after.

Schedules, shift swaps and who is on site, in one place the whole crew can see.

Two phone screens: a railcar arrival checklist with pass/fail items and photos, and the week's signed records with open findings
Synthetic demo data
Railcars & skids

Field inspections

Every railcar and skid walk is done on a phone, with photos, and signed.

Checklists that match the paper forms, signed records, and repeat findings tracked until they are closed.

Truck flow board: trucks on site, waits and turn times, a per-truck list and arrivals by hour
Synthetic demo data
Waits & turn times

Truck flow

Truck waits, turn times and how many trucks are on site are measured, not guessed.

A running count of the trucks on site and how long each one has waited.

Control-room wall display: three loading positions with fill status, crew on shift and the car order on the spur
Synthetic demo data
One shared view

Control-room display

One shared screen shows loading status and the crew board to everyone in the room.

A wall display that answers the questions people used to radio in.

Cadiz-proven

Everything on this page runs daily at our own terminal in Cadiz, Ohio. We describe what the tools do there and nothing more: no performance figures and no customer claims.

We deliver the tools as part of an engagement, set up around your procedures and your crew, not as off-the-shelf software.

Tools support qualified personnel and existing procedures; they don't replace them.
